KeLONG tRIp!
alritey! just got back from my kelong trip so here goes...
the kelong is really BACK TO BASICS man! ok first thing when we stepped in the kelong we were assigned to our rooms. my parents and i got room 6 with another couple from my dad's company. when we stepped into the room i was totally surprised! no beds! only 4 "di lum" (matresses<-- wrong spelling?) and 4 pillows that's all! woo! a far cry as compared to the last kelong that i went to! the last one had 2 single beds and was air conditioned! this one? natural air lah.. haha.. okay i then stepped into the toilet and what greeted me was a huge red pail and a toilet "hole". haha! the pail contained water for bathing and a scoop for scooping up the water! this totally reminded me of the time when i bathed @ my grandma's when i was young where we used the pail too! haha! cool stuff eh? the "hole" led wat you might have expected... the SEA... so all your organic stuffs would drop like atomic bomb down to the sea! woohoo! (toilet paper included) it was kinda disgusting when we started fishing and we saw pieces of toilet paper and shit dropping into the sea where my fishing rod was nearby.. i was like eeewwwww when i took the bait up to retie it properly! haha!

there was this fishing competition going on where the champion would get $100 cash and the runner up would get $50! guess wat i got!? hands full of sotong smell! haha! anyway my dad's colleague got away with the 1st prize with a winning entry of a 1.8kg swordfish.. thats the only big fish that anyone caught. the second prize winner was a 500g fish..hahaha..
hai~ the main thing that we weren't happy with was the FOOD! FUCKED UP! went there with such eagerness to whack seafood.. in the end? wah lau..
1st day saw GONG GONG.. woo! then when i tasted it? not hot leh.. not even warm! stoopid tour guide say the wind @ kelong very strong lah.. kUkU.. anyway this tour guide named yeo is damn farked up too.. later will talk about him... 2nd meal was dinner.. GONG GONG again! cold again! where is the succulent and steamed gong gong that i was looking for! this is BOILED lah! no taste! FAIL! rest of the dishes werent that fantastic too.. had crab which smelt so darn fishy i gave up eating.. and pineapple which was so ripe that it became nua.. we immediately asked for a new plate of pineapple! fish wasnt cooked well too and was raw in the middle! haiyo~~~ disappointed man.. to think i actually went for the food! no lala, no lobster, no chuut chuut! heart break lah...
2nd day went for city tour around batam island... tell you all ah.. there sell nothin but handphones! 1 shopping centre can have 10 shops selling handphones! went to DCmall, TOP100 and another lok kok shopping mall which i forgot the name.. haha.. nothing much to buy lah.. only bought local titbits and some other stuff like kueh lapis and honey comb.. sat down @ Godiva Cafe and i ordered this drink called vanilla crush.. if you think you wanna get diabetes, drink it man.. i confirm plus gurantee chop, your blood sugar sure rise over limit.. hahahaha... crazy shit they have there man..
took a ferry back to the kelong and had dinner. this time we had better stuffs on the table.. the swordfish which was caught was fried with chili belachan and the 2nd prize fish was steamed.. this then called food mah.. liew.. (this dinner no gong gong.. haha..)
continued fishing after that! mum caught 2 sotongs with one hook! dad's line snapped while fighting with a big fish! and me? caught a sea centipede! hahhahahah! hairy stuff with spikes on it which can cause itchiness if priked.. so be careful when u see such things! dun touch it woh! it looks just like a centipede on land but is fatter and more spikey. only comes when current is not strong coz it can slowly move and makan your bait.. wasted lah dad's line snapped.. if not can be champion woh! okay lets talk about our comtribution to the sea.. (other than shit and urine) the list is as stated below..
1) one hand-reel
2) 1 straw hat
3) 3 water bottles
4) >10 fishing weights
5) 1 smelly bowl of sotong (which we were lazy to wash)
6) rice and leftover food (thrown by kelong ppl)
7) 1 FISHING ROD complete with FISHING REEL!!!
hahahaha! there was this fish which was so huge which pulled the whole freaking rod down into the water! by the way, it was the winner's rod! so never mind lah.. got the $100 to buy a new rod and reel.. hahahah.. god is fair! you win some? you lose some! hahahah!
oh ya the tour guide.. mr. yeo.. cock up! sibeh KAO PEH! machiam CSM like tat! keep commanding and commanding! liew! i come holiday to relax ok! decided not to bother about him lah.. "xing1 xiong1 yao4 guang3" --> must have a big heart.. hahhaha.. never mind lah. when he talked we all just switched off.. hiew lan him! keep talking to the aunties about how good he was at fishing.. pls loh.. spare us can?! aunties were also kinda irritated with his incessant nagging.. hahaha.. some people just think they know and seen everything..
anyway, we went to the village and looked at how ppl lived there.. saw many interesting things such as the cashew nut tree (refer to pics) and many other stuffs.. ppl there really live such a carefree life.. kinda envy them.. no stress at all! that's about all regarding the kelong trip.. have a look at the pics! no more gong gong for 1 month! =P
