it is my official last day of school in my education career. ended with quite a nice note with bahasa oral, meeting all my previous ibus and of coz, having my favorite ibu lucy as invigilator made my day. (she's damn pretty) ok that's besides the point.

tried signing in msn after my bath but couldnt coz there seems to be some problems. i just wanted to sign in so i could talk/chit chat with some of my friends. well seems like He wants me to take a break so I headed off to bed. However, there's a nagging in me to blog. So here i am!

it was a pretty fun last week of school i would say. made myself look like a geek by wearing geeky specs (courtesy of jen); had a evolution confrontation (my last presentation in NUS); dinner at NYDC with my brudders bryan and tariq, sista meiting, "lao po" june, "laughter" lydia "super loud"marie and "hockey blackie" jiahui; took some crazy geek photos in lecture with the same 3 ON girls marie lydia and jiahui; (thanks for being so ON!); played frisbee in school with kun, shuping "ah pong" and yingxian, had wonderful coffee sessions with my bahasa mates khaidir and shih whilst bitching about other ppl in the class; and finally today, my bahasa oral.

i must say i would definately miss school. not becoz of its kns deadlines, assignments and the freaking 8am lessons. but FRIENDS. friendships that i've fostered over "the not so short and not that long" 3 years in NUS. friends that would be there to stay. friends whom you'll ask over when you get married. (i'd better work harder in getting a pacar) haha.

i miss sydney too. i miss the times where we were all carefree. assignments yes we had to do. but its all relaxed over there. the weather, the TCC (talk cock committee which comprised of me zhenling, ah pong, and kaiyi), my lilyfield kakis joyce, peiya and muthu. (oh shit i miss muthu? no lah had to include his name if not he jealous.HAHA)

it's been quite a crazy sem which explains the lack of posts. i'll be heading to turi beach for my grad trip! hope to practise my bahasa indo over there with the receptionists. haha!

kalau bisa, boleh saya tanya? =p

yes its ending soon. will be missing the crazy times i've had in school. this sem was super duper fruitful. guess maybe i'll update once i have the time yeah? time for reading week.

omg. i cant believe some nus students. what's wrong with them siah!!! its just an ecology trip and someone gets so worked up! WTH?! below are the chain of emails. read on.. debating on the hypothesis.

However,i think the hypothesis would be :

Due to human disturbances, the growth of mosses is denser at the edges of the wooden stairs (Zone A and D) compared to the central zones. (Zone B and C)

Do everyone agree? cos i rememmber when we were over at Labrador, we wrote down our hypothesis as "the growth of mosses is denser at the edges of the wooden stairs (Zone A and D) compared to the central zones. (Zone B and C)"

I think we are looking more to human disturbances as a variable, so therefore we should include the statement of "human disturbances" into the hypothesis.

hey guys,

guess we would need a conclusion as to the stuff as suggested by jason and vanessa.

1) for the results <0.5%, lets all change it to "insignificant"

2) the hypothesis. to include the human disturbances or not. there are 2 ways about it.

(i) if lets say we dun include the human disturbances, we would thus accept the hypothesis that growth is more at the edges due to closeness to the vegetation. however, we can still add the variable of human disturbances inside while explaining.

(ii) if lets say we do include the human disturbances in the hypothesis, it is possible too. in this case, we have to take into account that due to the fact that ppl step on the steps that are nearer the central i.e B and C of the steps, these mosses have been removed. thus, our hypothesis would be proven right too, but it could be due to 2 reasons, which was B and C being further away from the vegetation and also due to the human disturbances that B and C has lesser moss growth.

I guess for ourselves it would be better to take number (ii) for the hypothesis. Our hypothesis must show that we have already taken into account that human disturbances play a major role in our hypothesis. (to show we were thinking). we can thus conclude by saying that the difference in the percentages was more becoz of human disturbances than other ecological factors.

What's you guys' stand on this? I'm fine with both of them, just that we need to come to a consensus quick so that report can be done up soon!

Since this is an individual report I don't really think it is necessary for all of us to agree on one specific hypothesis and write all our reports based on that.

Those who agree that the first is better, will present their data based on that and those who agree that the second is a better hypothesis can simply change and present their data based on the 2nd one.

Why is it neccessary that we all have the same hypothesis? Can't we present the data according to whichever one we agree mostly with?

yup i'm finally back from my summer exchange from aussie. haven got the time (and money) to blog in sydney since the internet there's not free and we've been really rushing here and there to visit more places of interests. i miss the times there already. weather's there is great! summer at 18 degrees or so, not forgetting the sun! you won't sweat playing at the beach. how shiok is that!

yup as explained by the title above, the exams are finally over. and i will be heading off to aussie in bout 4 days time. next few days have been packed with lunch, dinner and in between coffee meetings. sorry if i'm unable to meet whoever up before i leave yeah? already trying my best!

i realised its only after the exams that everything sinks in again. maybe its coz i'm not as busy as before, stuffing loads of "is useful lah" info into the aging brain of mine, the late nights, the frantic copying of notes for lectures that i'd missed or fell asleep in, going to friend's house to study (which isn't so bad since the company's great, right bryan, tingz, muthu and weiyi?) thanks for the ice cream too. this doesn't apply to pang seh king.

it's gonna be a long 5 weeks. long? short? i dunno. but of coz it'll be a good trip. mixed feelings now though. feel as if still got things left undone. then again... its ok.

its been more than a week since this blog's had any posts. finally can get down to writing. went islanding and met up with kun. 3 weeks since we've threw frisbee man... the feel of sand between my toes. the sun. the haze. well, other than the haze and the sea of indians who went to sentosa to celebrate their day, it was pretty good! blardy haze. became coach for NTU frisbee team. haha. i is the good! no lah. they just training for inter-fac. you think i so good meh!

had a good chat with kun at the beach too. guess a 16 years friend really knows me best. sound advice. thanks brudder. hope the lil friction between you and alicia tidak apa apa. anyway already more than 8 years. tahan a bit loh. give and take mah.. =)

reached home, left my bag and went downstairs to sit at the swing before going out to the neighbourhood for a walk with my teh peng. seems like every sem i will need to take this walk to earn back some personal time. proceeded to soaked myself in a hot bathtub for bout 20mins. shioks.

thanks to sista tingz who da-bao this yummy nasi lemak from holland v for us hungry souls after animal physio prac! chicken isnt that juicy but the mei ren yu is not bad still. final rating.... 3.5 stars!

2) Ponggol nasi lemak

thanks to dia for the picture! nasi lemak all the way from ponggol @ Mee Sek Eating House. (actually is damn near my house but i always eat the bah chor mee instead, nicer than bedok bah chor mee!) ok out of point since we are discussing about nasi lemaks. dia gives this nasi lemak a rating of 3 stars! she says minus point coz too expensive. haha!

NOW! lets us move back to the scene at Changi Village and check out what's happening. [ i so feel like a newscaster]

had this with a glass of teh halia. nice coconut rice coz its gik liap gik liap one. soft soft also. chilli is quite power. chicken wing hot hot and nice and juicy.

2) The Authentic Chong Pang Nasi Lemak @ Sembawang

WOAH. this one. finally got to taste the AUTHENTIC chong pang nasi lemak. tell you this is damn good! the "mei ren yu" (mermaid fish) is crunchy and crispy. vege is also fresh though a lil' too oily. chicken wing? no horse run.
kudos to Chinese who can cook POWER nasi lemak!

woohoo! finally the nokia cable decides to work! Real Run was really great. must go next year! though the sand was really a KILLER. ask jiahui she knows too.

heng i managed to wake up on time siah! previous night tried to sleep early @ about 11pm so as to get at least 7 hours of sleep. BUT! only managed to get some shut eye at only 1 plus in the morning. damn! then woke up late somemore! heng managed to rush down "on time" though when we reached the starting point people already happily started running already.

d@n is back in school - for the last year. well first day of sch was great meeting up with friends that i've yet to catch up with over the holidays. everyone's been real busy with their stuffs. come to think of it, sch's not so bad after all! can wear shorts and slippers bua-long-long.. quite shiok wat!

today had only one lecture which was Life Form and Function. This sem's modules are pretty interesting with Prof Yip in charge of one of them. super cartoon lah this lecturer. "this is a marine fish. MARINE! fish." haha. one of the more commendable lecturers in horrid NUS. (esp science fac)

was at church today and i sat behind a pregnant lady. the lady kept sayanging her tummy in a circular motion while i peered over her shoulder, trying to catch a glimpse of how big her tummy was. guess wat i saw? the baby in her tummy actually kicked! so interesting. tis' the first time i actually saw this happening and it really put a smile on my face. just imagine the tummy thumping with every kick. so cute. it really dawned on me how beautiful life is, was and will be.
